Cooperation on a historic scale: Vulcan Shield Hungary strengthens its position in Békéscsaba with a supplier forum and university cooperation
VSH held a supplier forum together with HIPA with the participation of about 60 local companies, and signed a strategic agreement with the University of Szeged — for the HUF 280 billion investment creating 2,500 jobs.
Békéscsaba, 4 March 2026 — The largest series of investments in the history of Békés county has reached another milestone: the Singapore-headquarteredVulcan Shield Global(VSG) group’s memberVulcan Shield Hungary(VSH) held a large-scale supplier forum in Békéscsaba together with the HIPA National Investment Agency, with the interest of about 60 local companies. At the event VSH signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the University of Szeged, which provides the innovation and educational background for the region’s new industrial base.
60 local companies, a HUF 280 billion project
About 60 local enterprises took part in the supplier forum held at the county government office, whose representatives VSH’s experts met in person about joining the roughlyHUF 280 billionworth,2,500 new jobsproject. The Singapore-headquartered company aims to build a stable local supplier base for the manufacture of heat-resistant ceramic-fibre textiles and aluminium-oxide fibres.
University cooperation for the knowledge base
As part of the forum, Vulcan Shield Hungary signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the University of Szeged, which provides the innovation and educational background for the region’s new industrial base. Vulcan Shield Hungary (VSH), part of the Singapore-headquartered Vulcan Shield Global (VSG) group, announced its industrial investment worth about HUF 280 billion in Békéscsaba in 2025. Within the framework of three separate projects, plants manufacturing high-tech ceramic and aluminium-oxide fibre materials are being built for the automotive, construction, petrochemical and green-energy sectors, as well as for aircraft and rocket manufacturing. The development creates a total of 2,500 new jobs in the region; VSH builds on the local workforce and knowledge base.
