Békéscsaba, 28 February 2026 — With interest far exceeding prior expectations, theVulcan Shield Global(VSG) held its first Békéscsaba job fair. At the Saturday event,more than 400 job-seekerstook part — from semi-skilled workers through maintenance staff and quality inspectors to engineers and senior executives — and due to the great interest the organisers had to hold three briefings at two venues.
More than 400 interested people, three briefings
Several hundred had already gathered for VSG’s job fair before the 10 a.m. start, so the forum was held at two venues — in the FIT hall of the Employment Department of the Békés County Government Office and in the main building of the government office. The level of interest is well illustrated by the fact that three briefings were held in total: two at 10 a.m. and one at 11 a.m. Around 400 people took part in the job fair in total.
“We did not expect in advance that our first job fair would take place amid such great interest, just as we did not anticipate having to hold three briefings. I am very glad that the full employee spectrum — from semi-skilled worker to senior executive — was present and applied for the opportunity.”
— Lóránt Komjáti, Managing Director of Vulcan Shield Hungary
This year’s schedule: 300–500 people by year-end
Lóránt Komjáti said that this year production starts in a rented hall, which they want to launch within a month with 20–30 people. They would raise the workforce to 300–500 by the end of the year and then continuously increase it further. Construction of the new factory building is expected to begin in July–August this year and could be completed by the end of next year; according to plans, between 2030 and 2033 the headcount will reach 2,500. The first custom-designed machines are already on the train and will arrive at the rented hall in the second–third week of March. The interest in recruitment is shown by the fact that by then about 500 CVs had already reached the company.
What does VSG offer employees?
- salary above the county and regional average;
- a competitive benefits package and bonus system;
- professional development opportunities and a cafeteria benefit;
- work clothing and all benefits required by law.
It was stated at the forum that there is no age restriction for employees, and applicants are welcome for every position from semi-skilled worker to engineer. Chinese-language knowledge is required for only one role, the project-management lead position, which will manage the construction.
Mayor: it will become the county’s largest employer
Péter Szarvas, mayor of Békéscsaba, also took part in the Saturday event; according to him VSG’s move-in is progressing steadily, and the company will soon become the largest employer in Békés county. The mayor announced that the municipality will build a cycle path to the future site from government funds, which will make the site accessible to Békéscsaba residents by the end of the year.
“Saturday’s briefing and the answers given to questions reassured and could reinforce the participants. They are looking for Hungarian-speaking workers from Békés county for the plant, and the incomes will be higher compared with the county average.”
