Record-breaking energy storage inaugurated in Győr —CATL Debrecen

Hungary’s largest electricity storage facility to date, with a capacity of nearly 100 MWh, was inaugurated in the Győr Industrial Park — built on CATL’s advanced lithium-ion technology.

Győr, 27 February 2026 — Hungary’s highest-capacity energy storage facility to date was inauguratedon 26 February in the Győr International Industrial Park. The system, with a capacity of nearly 100 MWh, is built onCATLadvanced lithium-ion battery technology, and will play a key role in the efficient system integration of power plants relying on weather-dependent, renewable energy sources.

The country’s largest electricity storage

TheALTEO-Depónia Kft.awith 49.9 MW of powerandand 99.8 MWh of installed capacitybuilt an industrial electricity storage facility in the vicinity of the city on the Rába. The new Győr facility houses a total of21 units of CATL New Generation Container EnerXunits, the world’s first large-battery-cell energy storage system.

High energy density, long lifespan

CATL’s industrial energy-storage equipment is characterised byhigh energy density, a long lifespan of up to10,000–12,000 cycles, an intelligent cooling system and easy commissioning. Thanks to multi-level battery management and built-in fire-protection systems, the equipment is extremely safe.

Green energy on the grid

CATL’s energy-storage equipment is sought after in many markets worldwide — including the United States, China, Germany, the United Kingdom and Australia. The company’s latest developments help integrate electricity from green sources (solar, wind) into the energy grid, for which it also provides ancillary services to strengthen system security.
