Ács, 14 May 2026 — According to plans, trial operation will begin in August at theÁcs cathode-material plant— announced the public-relations director of BAMO Technology Hungary Kft. at the latest meeting of the Ács working committee. Staff are being recruited continuously from the local area; by the end of next year the headcount may reach300 people. The plant, which also produces for BMW among others, will use green energy from wind and solar for its operation, thereby covering up to20%of its annual energy use. BAMO is also increasingly involved in the life of the local community — on Tuesday 19 May, for example, it will welcome Ács residents who come by bicycle with breakfast.

The local working committee toured the plant

The local working committee toured the Ács cathode-material plant under construction on Thursday; its members include, among others, the mayor of Ács, the town clerk, several council members, the mayors of surrounding settlements, representatives of local civil organisations and the investor BAMO Technology Hungary Kft. At the meeting, a company representative gave an update on the current status of the project and answered questions that have arisen in recent weeks.

Trial operation from August, with green energy

“The hall building has now reached its final form; currently the interior of the plant is being finalised and the machines used for production are being set up. The plant can begin trial production in August 2026, after obtaining the occupancy permit. Applying the world’s most advanced and modern manufacturing technology, we will serve partners such as BMW, and we are in continuous talks with potential future customers.”

Ferenc Fülöp — Public Relations Director, BAMO Technology Hungary Kft.

He emphasised that thanks to the advanced technology, their operation will be safe for both people and the environment, and also sustainable: they will use green energy from wind and solar, covering up to 20% of their annual consumption.

Ferenc Fülöp added that the company has so far invested aboutEUR 300 millionin the construction and has so far not used any Hungarian state subsidy. The total value of the investment may reachEUR 1.3 billion, and could create up to900 new jobs.

Recruiting locally — in concentric circles

Recruitment is actively under way: they have 7 employees from Komárom, 4 from Ács and 8 from the Győr area, and have also hired 4 ethnic-Hungarian colleagues from Slovakia — that is, they continue to follow the principle of advancing recruitment in concentric circles, giving preference to locals. BAMO’s total headcount is currently145 people, of whom 40 are Hungarian. According to plans, from next February the majority of staff will already be Hungarian, and by the end of 2027 the company will have roughly 300 employees.

They provide continuous updates about their news on the company’s Hungarian website and Facebook page too.

Increasingly involved in the local community

“We want to be useful members of the Ács community. An important goal of ours is to launch and support local development programmes — there is already a concrete example of this: thanks to BAMO’s donation of nearly HUF 20 million, a playground was built in the town. It has become a tradition for us to support the summer Ács Days too. Last year we also helped Kinizsi SC. We have organised a cyclists’ breakfast in the town, a joint herb-planting with schoolchildren, and provided free lung-screening for locals at the Ács health day — and we were glad to see that more than 100 people took up the opportunity.”

Ferenc Fülöp also invited locals to their next event:on Tuesday 19 May, with a cyclists’ breakfast, they await Ács residents who come by bicycle.
