Budapest, 3 July 2026 – EFOTT will be held at Lake Velence for the last time between 8–12 July 2026. After the 50th, jubilee edition, the festival moves to a new location in 2027 — one better suited to serving the interest that grows year after year. Passes and Wednesday day tickets are already sold out, and organisers expect Friday and Saturday to sell out as well.

Eleven years on the shores of Lake Velence

This year marks the eleventh consecutive year that EFOTT is held on the shores of Lake Velence. The organisers have now announced that from 2027 the festival’s story continues elsewhere. The decision is driven by ever-growing attendance: the move is intended to let the festival experience expand further next year while preserving the accustomed quality in the long run.

“EFOTT has outgrown its current venue”

“Demand for tickets and passes grew by 60% compared to last year, so we closed pass sales on 22 June. Wednesday day tickets are all gone, and everything suggests Friday and Saturday will soon be sold out too. This also shows that EFOTT has outgrown its current venue. In the new setting we will have everything we need to further elevate the experience and maintain quality even with growing numbers,” said Marcell Budai, EFOTT’s head of press.

Last summer at Lake Velence

This year is festival-goers’ last chance to experience the EFOTT feeling at Lake Velence. The organisers are grateful for every moment spent here: for more than a decade, the lake was not merely the festival’s venue but its home. Where the story continues in 2027 will be announced soon.
