Főtaxi and Uber at Liszt Ferenc Airport — new airport taxi service
Budapest Airport selected the airport taxi providers for 2025–2030 through a multi-round professional tender. The long-established Főtaxi won the right again, while Uber joins as a new player.
Budapest Airport selected, through a multi-round professional tender, the providers that willbetween 2025 and 2030provide taxi transport for arriving passengers at Liszt Ferenc International Airport. The aim was to select partners that deliver stable, reliable and high-quality service even amid record passenger traffic.
The tender result: Főtaxi and Uber
As a result of the tender, the longest-established taxi company in Budapest,Főtaxi— which has been the airport’s reliable provider for fourteen years — has once again won the right to operate the airport taxi service. MeanwhileUberis given the opportunity, as a new player, to enrich the airport’s passenger-transport system with its advanced, digital-based solutions.
The airport’s passenger traffic exceeded17.6 million peoplein 2024, and this year promises a new record too. Due to growing demand, Budapest Airport sought providers able to support the airport’s operation sustainably with adequate capacity, professional expertise and a high service standard.

As a result of the tender, Főtaxi continues to serve passengers from the usual pick-up point in front of the terminals.
